Do you think becoming a Kaima Hukuk farmer might be for you?
"I never look forward to waking up in the morning and going to school. Waking up for a day of hard work at the farm is something different. I do it with joy and excitement - that means everything to me."
Daniel, age 17
Located near Lake Kinneret, Kaima Hukuk is a very special place. It is a social farm that welcomes Israeli teens who do not attend school or are on the cusp of dropping out and are looking for a meaningful alternative to conventional learning. Instead, Kaima Hukuk uses the farm as our classroom and nature as our teacher.
We have created a beautiful, safe space where you will work as equals alongside adult farmers and National Service volunteers to help feed the local community, learn about sustainable agriculture and business principles, and gain a renewed sense of purpose.
"I haven't had the strength or desire to go to school for several years, hardly even leaving my room. Finally, on the farm, I discovered a place where I could interact with others but still be in my own peace."
Omar, age 16
Working together in the fields to plant and harvest seasonal produce, in direct contact with the soil, in all weather conditions, creates closeness among the Kaima community, and brings calm for everyone seeking a peaceful space in nature.
"Agricultural work creates a quiet space. It allows us to speak to one another when things come up. Communication is the goal, agriculture is the way"
Kai, National Service Volunteer
While you should expect to work very hard, you will also enjoy joint studies, trips, and tours to other agricultural projects. Most importantly, on the farm, you will build honest relationships and enjoy life.

The farm is open to boys and girls between the ages of 15 and 18, regardless of religious or cultural background. The workday starts at 7:30 and ends at 14:00 (though we also offer additional after-shift activities) and includes two delicious and nutritious meals using ingredients from our fields. Your salary will be based on the minimum wage + a travel stipend. All participants are responsible for getting two/from the farm.
Kaima Hukuk is a registered non-profit organization, recognized by the Ministry of Welfare. Participation on the farm must be coordinated with your local council. All that you need to do is send us a WhatsApp message or give us call so we can help.
